A CHILD CALLED IT

 Dave is recognized as one of the nations most effective and respected communicators addressing corporate groups, conventions and human-service professionals. In 1993, Dave was honored as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Americans and in 1994, the only american to be honored as one of the Outstanding Young Persons of the World. Dave has dedicated himself to help others help themselves. David Pelzer is an author of many self-help books. He is best known for his book "A Child Called It". His books describes the abuse that he suffered for many years as a child from his mother.  His  mother tortured him and treated him as if he wasn't apart of the family at all. He was beat and starved by his emotionally unstable alcoholic mother.Dave Pelzer wrote this book by using real life experiences to explain the severity of child abuse. He took his own life and experience with child abuse and put it into the book to inform the readers about child abuse and how severe it is. Pelzers purpose was to show the world what really happens behind closed doors and how the child is affected in many ways including mentally and physically.He also wrote this book to inspire others who are going through rough times and that everyone is capable of bettering themselves no matter what they go through they just have to stay strong. Dave was willing to put his life on paper to help other who are going through child abuse to speak up about it and get help.
